Missionary Care Packages It doesn't matter if you're a senior missionary or young missionary, care packages from home are always welcome - this one had hand-drawn Easter cards from our grandchildren, my favorite 'sour patch' candies, my favorite back-pain meds, a few new pairs of socks, and the replacement credit card (my card was fraudulently used to purchase a new driveway in Norwich a month ago). Elder Truman had blown through a couple of pairs of shoes already and he and his parents decided to order in some Dr Martens. I'd never seen them before, but I think you can tell that these are about as indestructible as you could find. In a damp climate, and with all the walking they do, it is easy to destroy a pair of shoes. Size 14..... Transfer Time Last meal in Dundalk for Elder Caswell (left), and first meal in the new flat. We helped with moving the Elders - a short distance of 300 metres or so. Elder Schneider made us pancakes. We took Elder Caswell to the train station and off he went to Dublin.  Back to the train station at 4:15pm to pick up Elder Grant Truman. We have known Elder Truman since he arrived in Ireland in November - he has served in our Dublin Zone, Mullingar and Dublin, so he is well-known to us. A bright, energetic, fun-loving young man with a huge heart, and a love for his Savior. Branch Temple Trip To get from Dundalk (or Drogheda) in the case of Jonas, it took a one hour bus trip to the Dublin Airport; a one hour flight to Manchester Airport (40 minutes in the air); a 15 minute walk to the airport train station, then a one hour train trip to Chorley; then a brief walk to catch a cab, then a 10 minute taxi to the Temple. 9600 steps on Day 1. Left at 10:15am, arrived in Chorley at about 6:30...

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Which Is The Most Beautiful Car of Them All? Two newest cars in the mission fleet; Zone Leaders got the red Luna Hybrid and we got the Luna Sport Hybrid. The mission fleet is getting replaced soon - Hyundai i30 - but these two Toyotas were procured to fill an immediate need in the interim. District Council, One Chip Challenge?? After District Council Meeting in Dublin, our energetic and competitive District Leader brought out this box - shaped like a coffin, and painted with red and orange flames. It rightly predicts a hot and fiery demise of anyone partaking of the contents - one triangular shaped corn tortilla chip, seasoned with the hottest chili in the world, the Carolina Reaper, with SHU (scoville heat unit) of 1.8-2.2 million. The inside inscription, Dein Letzter Wunsch? I believe that is German for 'Any Last Wish?'    The milk was poured and ready. Then it started to kick in. We saw Sister Judd's head turn very red, Elder Aina with tears s...
